Are you under the impression that building one from bits and pieces will be more economical than sourcing a core lump?

if i can get a core lump at a reasonable price , i will buy one , however i have a few parts already left over from various builds , a core lump will definitely be first prize !

I actually did that a few years ago. I had enough spare parts to build a complete engine. Every part had to be verified within spec to use and all the assembly hardware had to be new. When all was said and done I tallied the receipts and found I had over $26K in my "cheap" spare parts engine.

If you are interested, I have a set of 97mm cylinders, pistons and wristpins that are well within spec. The stock piston tops have small valve reliefs cut into them for extra clearance and the cylinders are Niresist grooved. They do need a set of rings and I would very lightly deglaze the cylinders before installing them. Price is $1250 plus shipping and paypal fees.
