For Sale: Rebuilt, zero hour 930/64 Engine

** Update. Engine back for sale..$23,000

With complete transparency, I want to share that during an inspection of the engine we found a small nick in one of the cylinders. The original buyer did not feel comfortable waiting for the engine to be repaired and moved on which is totally understandable. I contacted Brian(original seller) and he had the engine shipped back to his engine builder where they will be scoping the cylinders, tearing down the engine, and fixing the issue. So, the engine is currently in Alabama at Martin's Classic Cars being repaired. Given its current location it may be advantageous if you are in the area to buy it an save shipping. Also, since the motor will be at least partly torn down, you could potentially save a significant amount of labor hours if you're looking to buy a 930 engine and customizing it in any way. Once the engine is repaired, it will be sent back to Werks11 in Temple, TX.

Original post(B&B Intercooler and Headers have been sold.COmes with OEM Intercooler and Euro Exchangers)

In August of 2016 I purchased this freshly rebuilt 1979 3.3 Turbo engine from Brian Bodart(RarlyL8), owner of RarlyL8 Motorsports and M&K exhaust, and Pelican Super User. This engine was rebuilt by Martin's Classic Cars in Madison,AL. Brian had the engine built to stock/concourse spec for a project he was working on.

I acquired it to go into my 70" hotrod build so I didnt need some of the Emissions stuff etc. As part of our deal we made the following Power/drive-ability upgrades.

*SC cams
*Euro Heat Exchangers
* K27-7200 Turbo
*TiAL Waste-gate.

My Intention was to use this engine in my car but as projects go, I had the opportunity to buy a very special upgraded 930 motor and made the purchase. Since owning the engine its only been mounted in the car for fitment purposes and still has zero miles/hours.Other than a little dust its the same engine I bought from Brian.

From the original Pelican advert:

"Complete split case rebuild to factory stock specifications. Every single nut and bolt is either new or refurbished to new. No expense spared. This survivor engine was built for a numbers matching collector quality USA 1979 930. 100% numbers matching components complete from waste gate inlet muffler to air cleaner. Factory paint was used on every part. If the part is not brand new it was rebuilt to a high standard. All CIS components are freshly rebuilt and have not had fuel in them."

Additional History on the engine from our communications:

-Case was hot tanked
-No unusual machining or work was needed
-the engine was just tired and had no history. Once torn down it looked good. They replaced the oil pump center section while in there

Engine serial# 6890582

930/64 engine for sale, (1979 930 usa)

$23,000+Shipping. Local pickup preferred.

The engine is being stored at Werks11 in Temple,TX

You cannot rebuild the engine with these parts for that price. You're getting the core engine for free. I am selling at my cost(which was a great buy) and not a penny more.

A lot of the parts receipts were not kept or able to be found by the seller...example were the rebuilt CIS FD and WUR($1000) and the K27 Turbo($1700) but I do have these from the rebuild:

Please DM me with questions. Thanks for looking!

What a deal. Wish I could afford it. I'm jealous of whoever winds up with it and hopefully they'll spring for the extra parts
Good luck

Thank your your comments. I agree, its a heck of a deal! I want to reiterate, Im not marking this up a penny from my original purchase. Trying to be a good Porsche community citizen and pass along the good deal I got to the next guy.

Thats no excuse =) I've gone from a 3.6 to this 3.3 Turbo, to another more powerful 3.3 Turbo all on the same build...and I've never driven the car, lol!!!
