WTB: Ball Joint removal socket

I am embarking on a front end rebuild on my '69 912 and I would like to buy or borrow a ball joint tool.
I think it is P210.
Can't really see the point of paying $100 for a new one when this is probably the only time I am going to do this.
Thanks, Dean

hey Dean... there is an alternative to the P-210. I can't remember if it's Ford, or what. available from FLAPS < $20. it's not a perfect fit worked for me as recommended by folks here. sold it @ the Lit meet earlier this year. if you don't get a response from this page try the tech page.

Dean, Just tried to use the tool to remove the nut with no luck. Hours of frustration. Ended up using a dremel. You will need the tool for the install. Good luck.

Jimmy makes the tool and sells it for a very reasonable price. I've probably removed 50+ ball joints with it and a cheaper one and never had an issue. Many were heavily -east coast-rusted. The right tool and a decent impact gun will remove them all. I do hit the worst ones with two or three minutes of heat from a MAP torch just so I don't put too much wear on the tool.
