WTB: single BBS off 962c (or any leads)
My father was a photo journalist back in the day and Porsche enthusiast. He never ended up owning one himself but he spent a lot of time around Porsche race cars in the 80s
He brought home this tire off a 962c that ran at Mosport. We have had it in the family for a long time. I’m wondering if anyone would have leads on a single 16x14 BBS I could mount on this tire to turn into a coffee table? It doesn’t need to be structural as we would never plan on using it. If it was heavily used that would add to the patina and look. Even if it was damaged or the lip was bent I can repair it myself. I would like to find one for his birthday as a gift. If you know anyone who would have such a thing please let me know. I know it’s a bit of a shot in the dark for someone selling a single rim for a non catastrophic price. ![]() Thank you!

Too bad, we sold seven wide 956-962 BBS centerlock wheels from the BRUN MOTORSPORTS 956-962 cars, a few years back. Couldn’t sell the centers for years, due to their unique fitment. Would have been perfect for your project. I’ve seen some on Race-cars.com and on eBay. I think there is a guy here on Pelican who’s handle is Race 962, who may be able to help. These wheels used a very unique center, which had a hollow cast hub, for lightness. I heard mine cost 1500. each to build back in the day. I believe we sold those centers for $400. Each. Nothing special about the halves, but the rear wheels we sold had 20 bolt, 19” halves, like the ones used on the rear of the 935. Those very large 20 bolt 19” halves are very rare now. I still get requests for them.

Shoot, those would be too high for a coffee table. They are some wide ass wheels.
Good luck on your hunt for your dad. Tony |

You might try Canepa Design. They might be able to help you with this.
I hope that this is helpful. Erik |
