How many miles since the rebuild? Is the engine a 1971 2.2S? Thanks.

The motor # 6310608 from a 70 S it is a 2.2L. The engine was built by Chris Powell at Chris's German Motorsports. The motor has very few miles, I bought car from a gentlemen that probably hadn't driven it more than 5K miles in the last 5 years. Almost all the internal components were replaced. All appropriate updates were also done at teh time of the rebuild, carrera tensioners, turbo valve covers etc. The cost of the rebuild was $10K. If some has a real S that needs a motor ( I do but unfortantely it has been built into an RSR) it would be a great to restore car. I also have a rebuilt 901 that I might sell.

Just for clarification the serial # indicates it was originally from a '71S. The third digit '1' is for 1971. Somehow it must have ended up in a '70S car.

Phil,

You wrote that the engine can be inspected/driven. Is the engine still in the car? If I drove to Ann Arbor, could I drive it?
