FS-996 GT3R clutch/flywheel (usable on G50's)

996 GT3R 7.25" Clutch, floater discs, friction discs and flywheel with ring gear.

Clutch is Tilton 66-012-HORA. Friction discs new are 0.104" thick, ones included with this package are ~0.101" - ~0.102", and instructions indicate first 0.002" wear happens pretty quick. Wear limit is 0.094".

Clutch with friction discs run $700 new... Similar type flywheels run in the $900 range...

Can be used with standard G50 transmission and 911 9 bolt crank. Will require circular throw-out bearing. Flywheel spins up balanced and is not warped.

$780 shipped CONUS (price updated due to addition of parts below).

...here's a few more bits to add to this setup. Spare clutch with discs (~0.100" thick, discs not in this pic) and the botton part of throw out bearing (you'll need to get piston)

It weighs about 17 lbs... However, over-all weight definately doesn't tell the whole story on this due to moving rotating mass in. Here's copy of post I put on another forum regarding this...

~~~~~~~~~
I think bene's are combo of clutch wt red'n and moving the mass toward the center. I've been told that reducing the moment of interia (moi) on a flywheel/clutch that's ~200 lb-in^2 by ~25% yields about 4 rwhp gain (I believe 200 is rough MOI of this flywheel/clutch).
Just looked up the moi for a disc and it's 0.5mr^2 (m=mass, r=radius). this clutch/disks weighs ~8# and i looked up weight of light wt clutch/disk on pelican and total weight looks to be ~13lbs. therefor roughly moi lt wt clutch = 0.5 * 13lbs * (9.5"/2)^2 = 146 and tilton 7.25" = 0.5 * 8 lbs * (8"/2)^2 = 64. Obviously these MOI's are not right due to the gross assumption, but MOI is roughly half.
