FS: 3.6 engine w/46mm ITBs

Greetings,
Need a hot rod motor for your long hood, this Christmas?? This engine will look good under the tree.

I have a 1991, mildly hot-rodded 3.6 engine for sale for $10K OBRO.

See it and hear it running.

koz77911's Channel - YouTube

1991 C2, 3.6
Engine # 62M53999 (later 91 engine with the seal rings)
55K miles
Stock P&C's (11.3:1 compression)
Stock cams
Patrick Motorsports 3.6 to 915 flywheel (for mating this engine to a 915 tranny for planting it in an early 911)
Stock heat exchangers.......no muffler

EFI
TWM 46mm EFI, Independent Throttle body injection
Bosch Injectors 0280 150 803 (35lbs/hr)
"Teaball filter screens"
906 rainhats
Ignition

Dual spark EDIS Distributorless Ignition
Crankfire (36-1 crankwheel with sensor).
ECU
Megasquirt 3.57
Programmed "start file"
See it...hear it run.......
koz77911's Channel - YouTube

I have tuned this on my engine test stand, so the ECU will come programmed with my tuning file, which you can see in my video, has the engine running nicely...but the real tuning will occur, once the engine is installed in your car and/or on the dyno.
If you are not familiar with Megasquirt, check out their website and the DIY Autotune website (where I buy my pre-assembled and tested megasquirt units).
These are great ECUs and all the info you need to understand Megasquirt and EFI tuning is there.

My 3.6 is a later (verified by serial number to have the seals) 1991 engine with the seals. This engine was taken from a Tiptronic Cab with 55K miles. I saw the car. Totaled by the insurance company, but fairly minor damage and it was being sold as a driver, but eventually it was parted out and I bought the engine.
I was going to just fire it up, but I didn’t take it for granted that this engine had the seals in place. I tore the engine down to the cylinders, verified that the seal was there and replaced them with new seals. While I was in there, I checked the guides (very good), cams, rockers, valves...de-carboned the heads and lapped in the valves.

In it's current state of tune, with the 46mm TWM EFI intake, EDIS crankfire ignition and Megasquirt controller with start up program, Patrick motorsports, 3.6 to 915 tranny flywheel, etc. I'm thinking around $10K for this engine........but, I am open to reasonable offers. also, If you are not interested in the ITB's, Megasquirt...or whatever ...I'll change the price accordingly.

Let me know if you're interested...I'll email you pix and any other info you require or you can come over and see it/hear it run.

I will also crate this engine for shipping (not just strapped to a pallet..a full crate), but actual shipping costs and arrangements are the sole responsibility of the buyer. I will help by delivering the crate to any facility within 30 miles of my location. I also can have it ready to be picked up at my home or at my workplace dock.

Note: I am not interested in shipping this outside of the CONUS

Note: I will appreciate all interest in my engine, but......an "I'll buy it " statement of commitment will trump an "I'm interested" statement.

I have attempted to add value to this engine and to minimize the risks associated with buying an engine online..I.E. you can see it and hear it run. That being said, this engine will be sold as is, with no warranty expressed or implied.

regards,
al

leak down results

My leak down tester arrived, so I warmed up the engine and performed a leak down test. I have to say that this leak down tester, from Aircraft Spruce, works nicely, (and not just because it gave me the right answers) allowing you to pump up to 100 psi and easily see the pressure differential. It makes the math easy. I deem this engine to be goooood!!!!

Cyl 1: 1%
Cyl 2: 2.5%
Cyl 3: 1%
Cyl 4: 3%
Cyl 5: 5%
Cyl 6: 1%

I've attached pix of the results.

regards,
al

Quite a bit of interest....................but no one has pulled the trigger yet................you know that you want this for Christmas. I'd like to move this out of my garage, before Christmas. I am open to reasonable offers and for the right offer I'll kick in $250 for the shipping expense. (That should be about 1/2 for most locations in the CONUS).

regards,
al

Thor,
Thanks.........I continued to play with it all afternoon. The Megasquirt ECU and tuning program is somewhat addicting. It takes a bit of spool up time, but it's really a very cool unit.

Your injectors will work well. Thanks for the frosty beverages. I'll make sure that they don't go to waste.

regards,
al

Al, will you be building "crate" motors of this kind by any chance?

Shaun,
I am having a good time, adapting ITBs and modern ECU fuel and ignition control to 911 engines. I am in the planning stages for my next project/motor, which will be a retro-modern interpretation of a 2.8-3.0 "High-Butterfly" set up........I think......................

PM me with what you have in mind.

regards,
al

Bill,
As you can see, I am no carpenter, but it's hell for stout and the 3.6 is just about ready to roll. Eric will be a happy camper. News Years Eve is my wedding anniversary and I may go on the local New Years Day run........but this crate will be done. work,work,work...

Shaun..............March may work for the next one.................keep your eyes peeled?

regards,
al

(thanks John for the speedo)

next project - on the 68S softy - putting the Harry Beiker restored IDS on a shelf and using Al's EFI solution- this will make life easier for the precious S motor
