WTB: 3.0 or 2.7 running engine

I recently bought a 1975 911s rolling chassis, and would prefer to do a 3.0 upgrade rather than rebuild the 2.7 that literally came in laundry baskets with the car. So I'm looking for either a 1978-83 3.0 or a 2.7 that will bolt right in. I'm aware of the issues with the magnesium 2.7 so a 3.0 is preferable, but I won't pass up a great deal on a 2.7 either.

The car's body is in excellent condition, although it will still need painting. With a running engine available, this project would move along a lot quicker and allow me start enjoying the car while possibly building my "Dream Engine" in the future.

I live in New Orleans, so we would probably need to arrange shipping as well.

Thanks
Greg

Check out member: Blackbyrd He had a couple of motors list, aways has a large group of items available. Like and trusted, long time Porsche guys. Find him in search, then drop him an email or message. Hope it helps you find a good 3.0 to get your project on the road.

Welcome, Greg. There are several Pelicans in NOLA, including myself.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will look him up for sure, and cross my fingers for other responses too!

Glad to know there are others here in NOLA.... Would love to meet other Porsche nuts like myself!

Greg- My six is in Virginia and the 3.0 w/Webers is coming out. If Scotty does not want it, he is building a car and had expressed interest, it may become available. He just got it started last week so it runs. It is supposed to be a 3.0 out of an SC in the 79-80 vintage. Once he gets it out I will know more.
Thanks,
Michael

Thanks Michael! Definitely let me know. I'm having much better luck here than on eBay.
