Merry Christmas
What adhesive do you recommend to bond FG or Cf top to body shell?
Thanks

Merry Christmas indeed!
We use plexus which is a merhacrylate designed for composite to metal bonding.

Hey Todd,

I have a sunroof panel I could send you to duplicate. Came out of my racecar in nice shape and I really have no use for it, just sitting in my basement storage area.

I already tore out the sunroof structure, disturbing the opening in the process to massage it for a steel sunroof replacment panel I got from Fenn Lane in UK. So my interest here isn't to eventually get a composite sunroof panel from you. However, me not real happy with my work on preparing the roof for my Fenn Lane panel. Still haven't put the replacement panel in place yet since I gotta get my act together to do some work on the cage before I close up the sunroof removal carnage. So i'm contemplating the full roof section replacement instead.

Let me know where to send the panel and i'll get it out to you this weekend.

I have seen this thread floating but first time I clicked and read, shockingly fair price for such a large item. Nice work and good luck

Todd,

If you are up for making a 914 'skin' targa top, I would be interested. I have a fiberglass skin now but CF should be even lighter, stiffer and cooler looking.

Cheers,

Sounds like it would be nice and light. We're at capacity right now so I don't think we'll be taking on any one-offs in the near future.
Besides, I really need to get our 911 targa top to market before starting one for a 914

Not sure if I can give an accurate answer. There is a wide range.
We've seen some that we're done with very nice flanging of the sheet metal and the cf skin bonded flush then surfaced and painted. And we've seen some simply riveted over the existing sheet metal after it was cut out for cage access.
Rates for this could range from a few hundred bucks to a grand I would imagine.

Really depends on what you're after and what your local shop would quote. If you're local and need one installed, I'd be happy to discuss it in person.

If i welded on rear and side pillars could your fg or cf roof then be attached and then be able to hold glass rear and quarterpanel glass and side glass without distorting etc?

MY car is currently a roof delete, All i have is front pillars with window nothing else on sides or back

I doubt it. My roof ends at the inside edge of the rain gutter and at the front and back edges. It was never designed to replace more than what is typically cut out to remove the sunroof assembly or weld the top of a cage.

Sounds like you would have to add a lot of structure.

Just wanted to give Todd a quick bump. I purchased a carbon fiber roof skin(after not being impressed with another vendors sunroof delete product) and received it yesterday. The quality, structural integrity, and fitment is really impressive!

Bump for a great product, seller, and company! Thanks again

On it!

Are we shipping it together with the hood next month or ahead?
