Ď77 with internal VR and better braid than what was originally used for the CDI wiring.
Actually the same braid as what was on the 69-73 cars, definitely more robust.

Hello, timmy.
Please excuse my hijacking of this thread but I saw you offer a wiring diagram for a 74 in a different thread and Iím currently updating gauges with ones from that era and wires are not corresponding. Do you still have the 74 diagram and if yes, is it available for sharing?

Thank you for your time,
Jefferson

So Dennis, you getting rich from this yet?

My engine harness is still cranking away, it's the one shown in Post #1

5+ years, 40k miles, no problems.

Hi Mike,
Youíll always be my first....
Rich? Lol, I wish. Any small profit goes to my car and my wife...
That and Porsch and other suppliers continually raising the prices for their parts while I keep my prices virtually where I started out at.
Canít believe it has been 5 years already since I started building harnesses.
Good to know your harness is doing itís job as it should. Maybe another 15-30 years to go before it starts to deteriorate from use.

Building SC and Mid Year Engine Harnesses

I have a 1975 911S with a 1980 3.0 installed. I have a Franken CIS, with a 6 pin CD box, 1978 Distributor and a 1975 warm up regulator, 3.0 coil. Living near New Orleans, I have no need of the cold start system. I also don't use the sensor on the left side of the engine under the fuse box - engine runs great without that. Also have a 3.0 fuel pump and 3 wire alternator. I've had to make some mods to the harness, and it may be getting wonky after 43 years. I plan to convert to PMOs when I save some $$$, still recovering from the engine build. So I guess I need a partial harness to connect the 6 pin CD box to the Distributor (with both connectors please), the coil, the warm-up regulator and whatever else it needs. When I convert to carbs, I guess I just won't use the warm up regular connections? Do you have the connectors for the CD box and the distributor? I assume you keep the CD box with carbs? How much would such a simple harness be?

Hi Bob,
I don’t make partial harnesses like you have described. Too much room for error.

I believe Parts Klassic sells the CDI harness you are looking for.

If your old harness is suspect, then I would suggest you replace the whole thing.

If you want to replace all of it with a complete custom harness, I can build that for you.

Cheers,
Dennis

Wiring Harness

Dennis,

I need a new engine harness with the what I outlined. I guess a full harness from the 14 pin connector, but only the '75 2 pin warm-up regulator and no other wires to the CIS system, 6 pin CD box, '78 distributor (green wire connector), 3.0 fuel pump in the '75 position under the left rear seat, 4 wire alternator. I plan to convert to carbs, but I don't think that needs any extra wiring? Please email me at robert@turnservices.com.

Ď82 light switch harness and repaired dash harness.
Had a meltdown from fuse panel to switch.
Had to cast a new 6 pin female plug for the light circuit as well as making the new male one.
A few other small repairs from PO wiring as well.

I just received the above harnesses from Dennis. The work is very, very well done. Dennis communicated with me throughout the process and delivered early. The harnesses arrived nicely packed and completely labeled.

I had insulation crumbling and fragile wires so I opted to bite the bullet. My goal is to feel more confident in my high mileage SC's electrical system.

In my opinion, Dennis is the MAN if you have wiring issues.

Now I have to wrestle the beast in place.
