Scam alert

Greetings: I may be new to the forum but I have been around the corner after dark. I put out a post for a Hella 139 fog light a few weeks back. Recently, I got a message from "Michael Chapman, at autoshop019@gmail.com". He offered to sell me a perfect Hella 139 for £150 GBP payable by MoneyGram due to the fact that his PayPal was "dormant". This dumb**** then lifted photos from a post by Blau911 from August 2012 as evidence of the merchandise. (THIS APPARENT SCAM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BLAU911 OTHER THAN HIS/HER PHOTOS BEING LIFTED). Was it PT Barnum that said, "a fool and his money are soon parted". Don't be that guy! Check historic posts for information/price history/etc. and don't send MoneyGrams or other non-recourse payments to Internet-cafe scammers. Please consider this post pro-bono legal services. Lastly, thank you to all the Pelican forum members for their generously sharing their time and expertise.
Regards,
Mike

What a creepy way to take your money. :-(

FWIW, I bought those lamps from Blau911 and he was a great seller.
Blau911 is a Very smart person who delivered a beautiful set of lamps.
Sorry you were scammed.

Luckily I had seen the pictures of Blau911's post and other archive posts and new immediately that "Michael Chapman" was suspicious. No money lost but wanted to alert others to be vigilant.

I got 2 e-mails from "Michael Chapman" over the weekend, one as a PM from and the other as an e-mail from . The latter was from Michael Chapman in the UK, and both had the same contact info. Seems to me, and my memory ain't what it used to be, he's contacted me before when I posted WTB ads.

Same. I posted a WTB for some speedline targa wheels. He posted pics of 'other' wheels for 2200 GBP. When I said that the shipping would kill the sale, he said "no problem, he has an account to look after the shipping" and to "not worry about the asking price". Sounded attractive til I spotted this thread.

Me too I had a wtb for 2.4L SSIs and Michael Chapman responded with a 'dormant' PayPal account.

I just asked him for "detailed photographs of the parts, including good, clear closeups of the usual wear areas".
