FS: 911 Front Brake Upgrade Kit

Another kit is available. Calipers, adapters, pads.........

This kit was built as a bolt-on caliper upgrade for the 911S, 911SC and any 911 or 914 with "A" series struts (3.5") using the standard 20mm vented front rotors. It's a state of the art Porsche Boxster brake caliper which has evolved from the legendary 930 Brembo four piston calipers.

The brakes are compatible with manual or power assisted brake systems and they easily fit under 15" or 16" Fuchs.

$750 OBO

So, what are these actual calipers then? I would imagine this is similar in upgrade feel to Boxster calipers?

Peter - They will fit under the wheels but your '66 911 didn't come equipped with the correct front struts. Unless they have been changed somewhere along the way, this kit will not bolt on to your 911.

The 911 "A" series Bodge struts look like these. Note that the caliper mounting holes are 3.5" apart. There are similar "A" series struts provided by Koni (orange-ish red color) and Bilstein (green) that Porshce used on the 911s.

This is a nice looking kit.

Why not use the 24mm Carrera rotor with these calipers?

Based on the rotor being used here, they are Boxster monobloc calipers.

Correct.

This kit and a sister kit I build are based on the standard Boxster caliper set. These are four piston Brembo monoblocks.

The sister kit uses slightly different adapters and is designed for the later Carrera or any 911 using the 24mm wide rotor.

This is the kit used for the wider 24mm Carrera rotor ('84 to '89).

A 24mm Kit Is Available

I'm in the process of building a 24mm kit (calipers, adapters, mounting hardware).

For those of you that may be interested, please contact me for details.

Thanks!

Fitment

I don't think boxster calipers will fit under 15 or 16" Fuch. Been covered I million times under tech side. 17" May be smallest wheel cause of caliper bulge. I could be wrong but would like to see it work. If yes will u sell just the blocks to bolt up?

They actually do.

Any 7" wide factory 15" wheel and even the 6X16" factory wheels.

No clearance issue....

Not sure what was covered where but it wasn't relative to these adapters. Hundreds of these kits have been sold and used on 911s with 15 and 16" wheels over a 15 year period.

The front adapters are $260 a set and that includes ground shipping anywhere in the US.

No issue with outboard clearance or OD clearance.

Using the larger bodied Boxster "S" calipers is another story....

I just learned this from Kevin KTL a while back but if you are having any clearance issues on the 16 x 7 911 fuch with the 993 calipers (in my situation) you get the 86 944 turbo fuch part # 951 and it will immediately give you lots of clearance. Offset is the same but the way it is cast gives tons of space with about a 8 mm spacer. Fits the wheel arch perfect. Goodluck with the package. Thanks Rob
