RARE 1969 Porsche 911T 2.0L Complete Engine w/ 5 Speed Transaxle and More

***Those interested please check out the YouTube link below which shows this engine in detail, including start-up demonstration***

The time has come that I must offer for sale one of my prized possessions. So, for sale is a 1969 Porsche 911T 2.0L Complete Engine with 5-speed transaxle, complete drive train including rear brakes, axles, and swing arms. Everything has less than 7,000 original miles on it.

Engine Numbers: 901/16, 19615, serial # 6195666

Transmission Numbers: 901-13, serial # 7193159

I acquired this engine, transaxle, etc. out of a rolled Porsche around 1970 (the Porsche had approximately 6,900 miles on it). My intention was to use it in a kit car I was building, but I changed my mind over the years and sold the kit car and kept the engine. It was never installed into the kit car. Since then, it has been sitting in my garage covered up for 45 years. I started it occasionally over the years.

This is a very complete and original unit, which includes:
  • Complete engine (which does run, as demonstrated in video link at bottom)
  • 5 speed transaxle
  • Axles with CV Joints
  • Rear swing arms and bearings
  • Rear brake assembly including parking brake assembly (and bearings, brake lines, etc.)
  • Complete wiring harness to the firewall
  • Starter
  • Fly wheel and clutch assembly
  • Oil Tank and oil cooler
  • Weber carburetors and complete linkage to firewall
  • Air cleaner
  • Alternator / blower / shrouds
  • Original coil
  • Original fan belt (which is still in good condition, as seen in picture and video)
  • Exhaust headers including heater boxes which are in excellent condition
  • Rear engine mount
  • Firewall and right/left sides sheet metal shrouds
All of these items are in excellent condition.

FUEL PUMP NOT INCLUDED

PLEASE NOTE: Does not come with muffler (I did not get the muffler when I got the engine originally. I do have one, but it is not in great shape. However, if you are interested in it, I can send pictures and post it on eBay if you would like to buy it)

The engine does start, which can be seen in the video. It does run rough, but is very responsive. Prior to starting the engine, I drained the oil, changed the oil filter, and took the tops off both carburetors to make sure they were clean (there was very little sediment in them, which I blew out). I also changed the spark plugs. I then removed the sending unit, cranked the engine over until oil came out, reinstalled the sending unit, and proceeded to start the engine.

Points and plug wires are original. I had to file the points to get it to start. The engine will need the carburetors gone through and new kits installed, as well as new plug wires. One carburetor does leak, and I am unsure whether itís a float valve or accelerator pump. That particular bank runs cooler and rougher than the other, possibly due to this carburetor.

After running the engine several times, no oil leaks have been observed. However, purchaser may desire to change some seals and/or gaskets.

The transaxle, axles, and swing arms have never been separated from the engine during the time I have owned it.

Below is a video that shows, in detail and description, much of the above information. If you need any additional information, or want to ask any questions, you can contact Al at 937-689-5777 or via email.

Given the rarity and quality of such a complete and original engine with less than 7,000 miles that also includes the 5-speed transaxle, axles, swing arms, etc. I am asking $11,500. Other reasonable offers will be considered.

SHIPPING

Shipping costs will depend on the purchaserís desired freight option and the destination. Shipping cost is in addition to the auction price. Please contact me if you would like a shipping estimate (cannot guarantee the ultimate accuracy of the estimate). Local pickup from the Dayton, Ohio area is available free of charge.

PLEASE NOTE: I have described everything about this engine and all included parts and accessories to the best of my knowledge and ability. However, I cannot guarantee suitability or performance for your specific application. Sold as is, returns not accepted. And once again, if you are interested, please watch the in-depth video below and check out the pictures.

Not trying to cast doubt on your engine. But it should be known to the Pelican community that this engine has been offered here (and on early911sregistry) in the past few days by a different party. Exercise due diligence.

Yes. This is true. That post was removed a couple days ago because it was a scam, ripped off from my eBay post - word for word. That person then used an email calling themselves "Alan W" (my name) and tried to get people to send them money via PayPal. I was contacted by another member of this site (because my number is in that youtube video) and he told me about this. Later that day, I finally got it taken down.

I am the owner of this engine and have been for the past 45 years. I understand the hesitancy or skepticism, but if anyone is doubtful, you are welcome to call me (and notice that my voice is the same as the person in the video), or I can easily post pictures here of the engine that no one else has because they've never been on the Internet.

(as for early911s - I was not aware it was also on there. I posted it on there myself today, but it has yet to be approved. I am going to look into whether it has been posted by someone else)
