Outstanding silver '78 Targa FS

'78 SC Targa, factory silver metallic, $6500 respray 4 or so years ago--perfect flat, deep finish, no orangepeel. Very few slight scratches, no dings, nose excellent with Chip Guard in great shape, no rock chips to speak of. Front Turbo spoiler. Rubbertrim excellent everywhere (appears to be new when painted), chrome trim and Targa bar, Targa top in like-new shape, all glass appears new, no dings or cracks. Never wrecked.

Appr. 75K miles on complete rebuild by very reputable Porsche specialists w. Mahle 3.2 kit, twin-plugged heads, Electromotive crank-fired ignition, SSI heat exchangers, factory stainless steel sport exhaust. Full receipts for rebuild. Appr. 230-240 HP w. massive torque. Quicker everywhere than any stock Carrera 3.2. Pulls like a rabid dog. Carrera chain tensioners, air box mod, etc.

Appr. 25K miles on rebuilt tranny w. new 1st and 2nd, etc. etc. by local Ferrari dealer.

Black interior presents in outstanding, nearly new condition, excellent seats, dash surfaces, door panels, gauges, etc.--no cracks/fading anywhere. Carpeting black w. some wear by left foot dead pedal area, other wise outstanding. 930S wheel, fully working A/C.

16" 6" & 7" Fuchs in great shape. 800 miles on new Bilstein HD struts and dampers all around, new Bridgestone Potenza S-03's, new front swaybar bushings, new alignment. 25.25 front, 24.75 rear height.

Brakes in excellent conditon, new stainless lines all around.

Very rigid structure, recently installed Stable Energies Camber Truss with outstanding results.

Alpine AM/FM Cassette w. detachable face, 6-disc changer. No holes cut anywhere for speakers.

This car is truly special to drive--it feels nothing like a '78, and is ultra tight and responsive. Nothing old-feeling anywhere. Simply does not feel like a 24 year old 911. I have many, many receipts, including for all the major mechanical work and for routine maintenance, plus original purchase receipt.

Odometer shows 94K miles, 90K mile tune up done. I suspect the overall chassis has appr. 120K miles on it, as the tach was replaced due to a defect at around 25-30K miles.

Comes with CoverKing StormGuard cover.

Oh--and some rock history attaches, too--it used to be owned by Chris Cornell of Soundgarden.....

I am asking $19,500. If seen and driven, it seems eminently reasonable!

Pictures will be available in a couple of days.
