Well, I do love Pelican but the hood crest I purchased was not much like the one I lost. The Pelican part is bowed out a bit, is very flashy gold (not muted like the original) and was a bit of a disappointment.

The crests that are presently available are quite different from what you can now get from our host or any other source. The crest on earlier cars have the part number 901 raised on the back of the badge. I believe the latest badge is numbered 911. The earlier 901 badge was much flatter and not as convex or domed as the ones available now. The stallion is much finer, with thinner legs and tail compared with the newer crest. The 996 crest has black enameled PORSCHE letters distinguishing it from the gold letter 911 badge. It's probably best to look at swap meets and find someone with NOS badges or offer to replace the badge of a owner of a car with the older badge. I do have a 901 badge with good cloisinne but the gold has dulled and appears silver. If you are interested in it, I can email you pictures of it

Mine is original. Part number 901 559 210 20. Gold is bright. Very nice condition.
