Interested in the motor and trans. What cams does the motor have and what compression ratio are the Pistons? What oil pump does the motor run? The turbo? What size were the heads ported to?

What is the case number on the transmission? It looks to be a 915 and that's what the header says, but 904 Main shafts are only use the 901 and 914 transmissions. Does it have a limited slip differential?

He probably means one of my mainshafts. We make a 904 style mainshaft with slide on first gear for 915. Runs $2295 for just the mainshaft and gear.

If anyone wants them I have the nicest set of 46 IDA Italian Webers I have ever worked on I could sell. I know exactly how to set them up for this motor no tuning requires. William Knight

Just curious

What does "active" transmission mean? No lift shift?

It means a tall 1st gear that is usable on track. Most commonly on the 915 We do them as a 2.64 or 2.40 versus the 3.818 stock ratio. Some go even higher. Rich Walton of JWE has a GTL class PRC car running a 1.83 first.

Oh wow that would be so much fun to have that many gears to keep the revs screaming all the time.

I had a Datsun 510 race car 20 years ago with a factory racing close ratio gear box. It was unnerving at first because all the way around road Atlanta the revs never dropped below 4K - it was like the engine never got a breath!

But once I got the hang of it it was lots of fun.

I hereby express interest in the transmission. I'd like to know specifically what gear ratios it has, and whether it has any upgrades like a single piece bearing retainer and/or an aluminum cover.

I'll get answers. I'm in the process of moving and I have my restaurant to run while my partner is in Italy.

Do you know the diameter of the rear tires and the ring and pinion ratio?

+ one for Sol at Perfect Power

He can build a good engine. His engine assembly room looks like a operating room.

Totally sterile

At 11:1 compression would you need race gas (even with twin plugs)?
Also, is the tall first gear practical on the street, or would you risk burning out the clutch with it?
