Introduction-New to me 912E
Here is the only photo that I have of my new to me 912E. She is number 1308 of the series, and is a black slicktop with a subdued red interior-sort of like cinnamon. The car is originally from Virginia, and was sold to the owner of the shop next door to where I help out in SC. He had his mechanic fix a burned valve and put on new front calipers, but when they ran the engine, a faint rod knock was audible, which is the way they sold her to me. I did spend a fair amount of time peering up into her innards while she was up on their lift-as far as I can tell she is rust-free.
I will not be able to do anything with the car until I get back to SC in November. Plans are to lose the steering wheel in favor of a momo prototipo or a wood rimmed wheel that I have. When the engine comes back out, I may install a 79 six that I have been working on and see how that combination goes. I will keep all the original parts with the car and I plan to spray something on the heat exchangers to preserve them while they are out of the car. I do look forward to making some new four cylinder friends on this forum. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1531699297.jpg
