It runs a LOT better

Well, I just had a VERY nice guy from the group come by
and look at the 912.
He looked over a few things and after some adjustments,
and after finding a spark plug that had no gap at all (pushed
closed) we got this thing running 100% better.

It is still smoking (needs rings) and still has the oil leak but
it actually has a little power. I drove it around a little after
he left and it was like driving a totally diffrent car.

So.....I feel like a total **** now for the posts about it bieng
tired. it was just no maintained right.

Thanks a million for helping me out.

Frustration can lead to many mistakes, and irrational thought.

it'll work itself out...I've told myself this many times.

Well, keep in mind, It will still be for sale. I am planning a move to
Arkansas, and this will be the bulk of the funds for that move.
So, We'll see, if I win the lottery or something so I don't have to sell it.

Allan,

You and your daughter are more than welcome to come down to Austin Saturday and join us. You certainly don't need to bring the car if its not ready. Would give you a chance to see a few other 12s and get a feel for what can be done.

Just think about it.... you could get alot out of it.... these really are great cars. Wouldn't it be great to make this one a great runner and turn the tables on the seller?

sure would
I had over $3000.00 in the motor of the car I traded for the 912.
Lots of work into it.
He has since traded it for some motor cycle from what I've heard.

Oh well, maybe I'll just ask for a "Big Bore" piston/cyl set for my
birthday on the 27th of this month.

hmmm .....

Allan,

I have found my 912 to be one of the most joyful yet frustrating ownership experiences. The joyful part far outweighs the frustrating part.

Does that 912 of yours still have the CA black plates on it?

Craig

yup, it sure does, I like the way it looks so I have not changed it.

Has it ever been registered in TX?

If not those plates do add some value to the car. If it has been registered in TX keep the plates as proof it is a CA original.

nope, never registered in Tx. still has the CA title and all
