Porsche 912E Pressure Switch/Sender Hose
Hi.
I've a 1976 912E that I imported into the UK a number of years ago . Its been in the garage over winter and after starting to carry out a timing check/ tidy up I noticed it was leaking oil. Hunted and found the culprit a split hose - burst actually. I think when I had the distributor off and put back I didn't seat it properly so it didn't connect to the oil pump/ dizzy drive shaft and a pressure build up burst a rubber probably 1976 hose. (Better in the garage than on the road) This oil hose is about a foot long is behind the distributor and leads to a t connector - off which is the Pressure Switch and a Pressure sender (on a bracket) to feed the instruments. I've checked PET / 914 forums and can find no reference to this hose anywhere and no real detail of this fitting . At a guess it looks like its got an M10 ? thread male into the engine case and female at the other end into the T connector . So anyone with any bright ideas- is there another Porsche hose or vdo hose that would fit ? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Any info on what fitting / thread sizes these are would help - worst case I suppose I can send it off for someone to make me a custom hose . Cheers Dave |

There is no such oil hose on that engine, the pressure switch simply screws in to the case. Perhaps someone put some sort of tube in there to add a sender for an aftermarket oil pressure gauge?

![]() I can identify the two fittings. The Male is M10 intended for a crush ring seal (straight threads, not taper). The Female is a Euro Flare or "Inverted Flare" and accepts a Male fitting like this...... ![]() As Ryan says, this must have had a Oil Pressure Gauge mounted by previous owner. Len
