Tire Pressure
Reccomended pressure with the original 165HR15 was front 26lb and rear 29 lb. My thought is that with new wide tires , mine are 195 65 15 , I would actually need less pressure per sq inch. I want a balance of good handling, ride and most important ... even tire wear.
The tire installers always want to put in 40 lbs. which to me gives a choppy ride and tires worn in the middle. Any experience out there?

![]() He stated that he sees the same thing when clients pull into his shop with fresh rubber. I just had tires installed on the 944 2 weeks ago, I anticipated this issue. For kicks, I asked the GM what the recommended air pressure was. His response, " its marked on the side of the Tire...(stupid)" . ![]() Although I am running larger rubber than you (205, 225, 245), with the "E" and the 944 I start at 32 front and 34 rear...trial and error adjustments until it feels correct (I disregard of what others tell me about their spec). I check pressure on monthly basis and adjust due to climate changes... Good Luck, Bob Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, the tires were inflated to 38lbs on all fours... |

I lowered the press on my 19560r15s to 24 front 27 rear on someones recommendation here and it made a considerable difference in feel and handling. Try different pressures until you find what fits. Seems the consenses is 2 pounds lower in the front. See ya Mike
