Solex carb info needed Please help!!

Hi I have just taken apart a solex carb that was on my other halfs car. It is a 69 912 unit in a speedster. The carb was abit grubby and it had a few probs with running rich. so I bought a rebuild kit from over your side of the pond ( USA) and it arrived this morning set to it.

The Problem is ........ That I took it all apart and I have 4 jets left over that I don't know where they go.!!!

they are both in pairs so

1 pair are marked 0.7

and the other marked 1.1 or what looks like 1.1 ( they have a bigger hole any way)

So which are the idling air bleed the ones marked 0.7 or the ones marked 1.1

and the same for the other holes which are the choke fixing bleed
are these 1.1 or 0.7

let me know cheers
Mark UK

also has any one had a problem with the top plate of the carb not sealing with the main housing I took the top off again and it looks like the fuel has traveled along and not sealed.

Also while i am on carbs the float needle do you use the thick 2mm copper washer or the 1mm fiber washer??

On my 69 the idle air bleed are marked: 1.1
Don't know about the .7jets, The washer under the float needle valve on mine is metal (not copper) about 2mm.

They sound like air correction jets and idle circuit jets which screw into the very tops of the carbs. These can be removed/replaced even with the top cover on. I'm not sure which one is the bigger. Sorry i'm at work and can't be more help.

Please do not panic.
The Porsche book tells where to put the jets. Try to get a copy from someone. I would tell you but you need the picture from the book.

dimps8 yes your right these are the jets that screw into the carb top then the top cover goes on top to cover them all.

it's just a matter of which pair is which

Snowman yes your right I have a copy of the Porsche Work shop manual for the 912 it shows the jets but not the size. The table in the back shows the air idle as 180 ,180 what???? not sure what it is so
