912E questions
Some problems : I bought a pair of brakecalipers , off from 912E.Intended to refurbish them and put in my own 912E.My pads are 72mm long, in the calipers I bought they are 62mm!!Which one is correct for 912E?
What is the original colour for brakecalipers in 912E? Why are the wiper arms black? All other parts are chromed , window frames , door locks etc. Wouldn´t they look good if they were chromed too? If I want to improve the AC , for example by putting a fan in the enginelid thing , should the fan push air out from enginebay ? Or suck air in from outside? I hope someone can help me..... e k i |

Our cars are a bit strange aren't they?
I'd say this, check the mounting bolt hole distance as a way to see which caliper fits on your car. A and S calipiers and different than M. I don't know maybe Porsche ran out of the solid rotor M calipers and still had 914 motors left so they put A calipers on the remaining ones. Maybe the A caliper came with Biltstein struts, and the M came with Boge? Or maybe someone updated your car with A-calipers at some point in the last 30 years. I guess all someone would need to do is take 911 A calipers and remove the spacer??? that and transfer over the strut. If I were you...fix/rebuild what you got, and sell what you bought. |
