New owner, advice on build

Hey everyone, I'm a new 912 owner, and would like some advice on planning my 'restoration'. Please forgive me if anything I say is ignorant or uninformed. I'm new to the community!
I have a clean title mangled corpse of a SWB 1966 912. It's likely none of these parts would be used, and I will either have a 'replacement chassis' to put around the VINs (done the proper way thru California), or craft a car from replacement parts.
Any ideas beyond reproduction sheet metal/salvage vehicles?
I don't particularly care about period correct-ness or resale value. Look at the car, I'll basically be raising the dead.

I wont be using a boxer engine, and to get the trans ratio's I want, I currently plan on using a 996 transmission with a 4.15 final drive.
For the people who've driven newer generation manuals, how does the shifting action feel to you?
I'm a huge fan of simple viscous AWD systems, like those in the 993/996. I've never driven a C4. I understand the effort a conversion would take, but I'm apprehensive as this would add ~10,000$ to my build for something that many owners delete on newer vehicles.
If you've driven a c4 of any generation, how do you like it?
Would an AWD 912 with turbo flares make you smile, cry, or both?

Your too much all over the place, is the car your showing a VIN donor, or the car your restoring? Not using a boxer motor but a water cooled transmission? And finally you plan on installing an AWD conversion?
Good Luck! Start a new post and I’m sure you’ll get some fans of your build!

You're right, it is alot! To answer your question, the car pictured is my VIN/Title car.
I'm interested in using the floorpan of a 996, to house a 993 torque tube/driveshaft. pictured here - https://www.design911.com/pages/diagramsBrowser.aspx?categoryID=8&diagramID=2671
I'd also want to use the 996 seat wells and rear deck, but i'll need to find a car and take measurements.

Now, my wrecked car...
Inner fenders, wheel wells, fenders, quarters, a roof, window frames, firewall, crossmembers etc.
Luckily Dansk and other brands seem to make reproductions of everything.
I'd like to go for the long wheelbase 1973 911 2.8 RSR appearance or similar.
The reproduction sheet metal is the real expense of this build.
*Not factoring in any labor cost as this will be 90% DIY, im expecting around $35,000 in parts.

My only worry with the build is power, i'm only planning 250 WHP/200TQ, and I wonder if this will be enough even with the light chassis.
