Hood Light for 1976 912E

I am bringing a 912E thats been 1/4 restored by 3 different people back from the dead. I noticed there are no lights in the hood area or engine compartment. Is that normal? If it's supposed to have lights will someone show me the location (in a picture) of where they are located. It would also be nice if you could show me the wires they connect to. Thanks for any help

Your front luggage compartment lights are on either corner on the underside of the bonnet closest to the windscreen. When I bought mine, they had been painted over and you couldn't really see them!

I don't know if the 912e had an engine compartment light, but if they did it would be on the crossbar of the engine lid grill.

They will only come on when you lift your bonnet with the headlights switched on.

As you lift your bonnet, on the corner to the left side of your windscreen there is a small press switch, (the same type of press switch that switches the interior lights on). If the switch is not there, there will be a hole where the switch should be. The wiring for the lights are clipped to the bonnet hinge. The wiring is shown on the wiring diagram.

Hope that helps

Andrew
