Porsche 912e automatic?

Hi
Asked on other forums but I have recently had a motorcycle accident and I lost my leg below the knee. My license has been changed to automatic here in the UK.
I love my 912e and is a family heirloom.

I want to convert it to automatic.

I wondered if it would be a straight swap?? Part number is 925.301.301.3R

Other numbers on the casing are 925/13 the lower line is 766 1175.

Would this fit the 912e?

Any ideas?
I

you can swap a vw type 3 or 4 fully automatic tranny no problem since they came from the factory that way.

The Porsche 912E was a variant of the 911 introduced in 1976, equipped with a 2.0L fuel-injected four-cylinder engine producing 86 hp, and an optional three-speed automatic transmission. It had a top speed of 111 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 10.5 seconds. Only 2,100 units were produced.

Just to keep the information valid:

1.@miketori You can’t just swap a VW automatic trans into a 912E. It would be easier to obtain a complete Porsche Sportomatic setuo and adapt it to the T4 engine. Gearing would be questionable.

2. @Kiera69: I’ve owned various Porsches for over 55yrs including two 912E’s and have never heard of an automatic option for the 912E. If you have some legitimate documentation please share it.

^the voice of reason.

The most cost effective option would be to sell the 912e and buy a G body 911 sporto. The delta in price would be less than trying to equip a 912e with one.

auto swap

I have one, it drives perfectly. Fully automatic out of a vw square back. Not a sportamatic.

Can you post a couple photos of your conversion please. What did you do for halfshafts, gearbox mounting, etc.?

Thanks,
Bill
