Piston Deposits
 

No luck with the case halves i'll try something else. The tops of my pistons are covered with disposits. Do I media blast? Soak in Carb cleaner? Wet sand? Throw away? Thanks DG

Try soaking them in carb cleaner for a couple of days. This will really loosten up the carbon.

Bead blasting the tops after cleaning is ok, but do NOT bead blast the ring lands or around them, this can destroy the piston, and it will not necessarly be visible. NEVER bead blast the case or oil filler tank.
