If the solenoid clicks and the starter otherwise spins, the actuating arm that connects the solenoid to the bendix has failed or the pivot pin has failed/fallen out.

If the starter clicks but does not spin, the solenoid contacts need to be cleaned or the solenoid replaced (with or without the rest of the starter). If the starter solenoid does not click, the problem is electrical which could lie anywhere starting with the battery to the starter itself...
