Testing lapped valves with gas
I lapped the valves in a 912 engine.
I poured a bit of gas into the combustion chambers to see if it leaked past the valves. How long should I wait to see if the gas is leaking through? After an hour or so, no visible gas gets into the ports. If I leave it overnight, some gas will dribble into the ports. Am I good to go?

For anyone interested....
I just came from a machine shop that does valve jobs. He said it if the gas doesn't leak past the valves in the first few minutes, you are good to go!
