Wires from generator to voltage regulator

Hello friends 😃

Can some of you tell me if (how) the wires from the generator to the voltage regulator are specified in respect of length, thickness (mm2) and insulation? The generator is the small one - 350 W, Ø 89 mm.
Does it matter if the length of the three wires are shortened each by 25 cm?

Regards Palle

Palle:
You can shorten the wires but allow extra length for engine movement. As far as gauge, the D+ requires a thicker gauge (i.e. 12 ga) while the wire to the charging light on the dash can be thinner. Just be sure the wires are stranded copper and intended for automotive use. Also, when in doubt, go with a thicker gauge.

Hi.
Thanks for your reply. I have been there - got a nice and usable reply from Peter Graham.

Hi Bill.
Thanks for your reply. It is nice and very usable. As you may guess I intend to make the wires by myself.
Regards Palle
