Record price for a 912?
I just saw a 1967 ( I think) 912 sell on E-Bay for $ 15,770.00. This was not a restored car, Great shape but not restored. I didn't think the 912s sold for that high a price. That would be great if the price trend is going higher.

That was a very nice 912, I think the big thing was it was a 1 owner car with all maintanance history etc to go with it.
Hopefully a trend for the 912, but only time will tell for sure. Craign |

It was a nice car - one owner according to the ebay posting. It was not a VERY nice car. I think mine is nicer, and I'm sure there are others out there that make mine look rough.
That seller is a little bit sleezy. He had a 356C very nice and it went to 30K. His stuff is hyped to the big max however. I do think this price shows an upward trend in 912 values. Mark Petry Bainbridge Island, WA |

I would hope that whoever bid so much at least inspected the car, I could not imagine shelling out that kind of coin with my own eyeballs seeing it.
If it turns back up on Ebay it will be very interesting to see what a "re-auction" would get for it. Craign |

People do bid without inspection
People DO bid without inspecting the car! I think there is an angle that says you can reject the car if it is not as represented. But this seller presents his cars very well... however, the yellow 356C appeared 2wice on ebay before it finally went for $30K.
15700 is a very high price for a 912. Denny Akers has a blue 68 that has 44XXX miles on it - THAT car might warrant a price even higher - or a fully sorted car from a club member. But I think this grey one was overhyped, hence the high bid. I think a fair price for it would have been in the $9000 range. Mark Petry Bainbridge Island, WA |

Mark,
I was thinking 10-12k, I am contemplating selling my 912 and was doing some "comparison" shopping so to speak. I only have 68k original miles and 15k miles on the engine and tranny rebuild I do not think it is worth 16k. 98% original too, except for webers and CD player and I still don't think it worth the 16k. PCA puts 912 "upper" valuation at 14.8k for a concours quality car. I think that is a reasonable judgment, maybe higher if it is a low mileage, 100% original, zero flaw 912. Craign |

It is nice guys to see the price rise I only paid $2000 for my 912 4 years ago . But the thing is if the car price goes too high it puts it out of place for others and then the cars that are restored will end up hiding lock ups for safe keeping.
At the £5000/$8000 range they are still afford able for most (if you sell a kidney) and we all have fun in them and meet up. If the value of a 912 went to £17k/$22K then would you still drive it like you stole it. Mark

There was a car that sold at auction this weekend in Monterey for $17,500. I think you are finding the 911 guys have learned how nice the 912 drives. That is me, and I am willing to pay for a good car.
