Question Dead Pedal

I am starting to wear a spot in the carpeting under my left foot resting spot. I am thinking of installing a Dead Pedal. Any one done this?? I probably could make an inexpensive one. Definetly not interested in the Billet Grade Aircraft Aluminum ones for $100.

Any recommendations? Got one for sale??

Also thought of gluing down a piece of vinyl or rubber to cover the spot which is a no brainer.

Thanks,
Ron D

Hi Ron,

You may be on your own with this one. I don't believe a dead pedal will fit the narrow footwell of a Targa.

If that dead pedal required drilling I would opt for the rubber or vinyl myself. Particulalry in your neck of the woods.

Thumbs up

I think you guys are right.

Not enough foot room in a Targa for a Dead Pedal and the vinyl or rubber pad will not require any hole drilling.

I'll post a picture of what I come up with. I'll just glue it in place.

What a great way to bounce around new ideas!

Thanks,

Ron D

I gave up on the Dead Pedal and instead glued some ribbed vinyl as a foot rest for my left foot and a small wear pad next to the gas pedal where my right foot rests.

Low cost effective solution to not wearing out the carpeting.

thanks,
Ron D

Nice fix.

BTW You can also attach a dead pedal to the edge of the floor board that is behind the pedals and not drill into metal.
