Question Fuchs Wheel Weights

I will be getting new tires next year. Wondeing if standard wheel weights will fit on my Fuches wheels or do I need to have the weights glued on. If so where do I get weights to glue on??

My current wheels have glued on weights.

I am not excited about going to the local P Dealer to have the balancing done.

Thanks,
Ron D

Any good tire shop should have both types of weights. My 14" fuchs (69)use the pound on weights inside, and the 15" fuchs (72) I just got for the track dont have the inner lip so I will use the stick on weights.

I prefer the "stick on" weights over the "pound on" weights so the rim lips don't get dinged up.

i agree with Craig on that one (craign that is).. just stick em on the inside of the rim, out of sight out of mind.

also, make sure the yellow or red dot marking on the side of the tire, is lined up directly with the valve stem. on most tires, if mounted correctly and lined up with this dot.. you will not need weights.

on my 912, i dont have any wheel weights, everything is balanced, b/c it was lined up. on my dads car, he only needed a weight on one wheel.

why do you have to take it to a pcar dealer to get the tires balanced? your regular tire shop should be able to do it.

you can get the weights on ebay. they have a removeable plastic strip and stick on, like a sticker (only heavy duty). my dad got his wheel balancer, weights, and tire changer on ebay.. if you have a lot of cars, it will save a **** load of money to just order tires on tire rack and just mount them yourself. its really easy to do actually

Harry:
For some reason I thought only the P Dealer had the stick on weights. Have not seen them at my Goodyear tire dealer, but never really asked them.

Thanks for the info.

Discount Tire even has the stick on weights. I have the option of going to Discount, or the Tire Rack locally and both have the weights (but the Tire Rack actually KNOWS Porsches). Last time I was at the Tire Rack with the 912 there were three other P cars there at the same time. Very cool.

This is the one in South Bend? I have a set of Kumho 205/50/15 v700 victoracer tires ordered from them and need to take my wheels down there after the new year and get them mounted up. They seem to know their stuff!! Oh, any good shopping malls in the area for the wife while it get my tires, she wants the equal amount to spend!!

Yep, it's the one in South Bend, the new warehouse just off of US-31.

There aren't any malls in the area, I'm afraid. The closest one is over in Mishawaka on Grape Rd. You can get there on the Toll Rd., or through town, but it's probably about 30 minutes away.

They do know their stuff. When the weather is nice you'll see all sorts of high dollar rides running around there and in the parking lot. Not so sure about winter though, I'm sure the sports cars are all put to bed. Oh, and if you see a short, older gentleman with an accent working in the tire mounting area you may be interested to know that he's the owner of the place. No kidding!

Later,

G
