What should '67 trunk look like?
Just acquired a '67 912. Trunk is empty (not even a spare). I know there should be carpet but not sure what else. I recall that there was a fiber board cover over the instrument panel area behind the carpet in a 911 I once owned. Should that be present on my '67 or just carpet?

No pics yet. Just bought the car today and have not brought it home yet. One owner since near new, been sitting since '89. Runs but no brakes. I know 912's don't have much power but figured I still ought to tow it home!

OK Jim,
Do you need a rear rotor? I have an almost new one in my garage I am ready to pitch. It's yours if you want it. |
Yes. One down, 3 to go. Thanks Harry.

Jim,
Did you know that a '67 912 was my first Porsche? It looked like this: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077767956.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077767991.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077768086.jpg Until it got wacked by the school bus and then it looked like this: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077768134.jpg |
Very nice. A first year targa 912 is a very rare car (even a first year 911 targa is rare). When did you own it and when was the rear customized? I thought all the '67's were soft window.

Jim,
I had it for a total of 4 weeks in 2001 before the school bus viciously and without cause attacked us as we were waiting to make a turn in Salem Oregon. During my 4 weeks of ownership, the car was dead for 2 weeks due to a broken ignition switch. The good news was I was able to gain 6 years and 2 cylinders in her replacement but I lost my true classic in the process. |
