Pushrod tube replacement

Can somebody give me the steps to replacing the pushrod tubes on my 912 engine (it's from a 1968 I believe).

I've read the workshop manual but it assumes you have worked on an engine before

The best thing to do is buy a good service manual, The Porsche 912 Handbook, orange cover, is a good place to start to learn dis-assembly and repair. I beleive our host sells it.

Expandable pushrod tubes can be installed with the heads on, but you pay through the nose for them. If you are up to the task, use it as an opportunity to pull the heads and have a look. You can buy a nice top end gasket set with the money you save buying the standard tubes, and might just improve your motor in the process. Harry Pellows videos are a good resource, as is the factory shop manual.

Best,

I have all factory binder style service manuals, 911 and 912...the orange 912 handbook is much cheaper and much easier to obtain, plus the information on this topic is nearly indenticle.
