Overheating 912E

I have a 1976 912E. It has 199,000 miles with about 30,000 on engine rebuild. The car has factory air. The engine runs rather hot when the AC is on in hot weather. I don't believe I have any vacuum leaks and the engine runs well. The oil cooler is clean but the stock item. I was thinking about installing a small 12volt fan under the decklid grill outlet (inside the engine compartment). Has anyone done this? Or do you think this would help?
