Can My 912's Electrical System Handle A Small Stereo Amp?
Ok right now my 912 is in the paint shop getting a fresh coat of guards red and probably an "S" Spoiler up front.
After I get some new wheels then the exterior will be pretty much complete. So next comes the interior and the trunk area. As of now the car has no radio. I plan on finding an old Nakamichi cassette player or somthing along that line, pretty cheap to install in it. I also found a small A/D/S/ 20X4 Stereo Amp I would like to install to kind of spruce up the trunk area and add a little more detail to my stereo system. I am taking the factory fog lights off of the 912 and really won't be driving it that much at night anyways. So can the stock charging system handle the addition of an amp and still be able to run the headlights at the same time? Thanks, Dustin |

this is not a reply to your amp question, but you mentioned that you are taking the fog lights off of your car? would you be interested in selling those? do you know if they work, and just to be sure, they are the square type correct? if you would like to email me directly, that would be great, jbeachx356@aol.com

With such a small amp, you shouldn't have a problem with the charging system-it's usually only when you start adding subwoofers, cooling fans, and the like before you'll run into serious charging problems. Just make sure the basics are alright-clean battery connections, good grounds, good brush tension in the generator, correctly adjusted regulator-to name a few.
