Chance to Buy a 1976 912E....

I am new to Porsche all together. This car is very clean with 15" alloys and electric sunroof and mirrors. Is this a collector's car? Should I go for it, and what are the main problems with this year? Is it like the 74-77 911's in terms of problems. Also what is the base horsepower for this car? Thanks a lot.

Liso: They're great cars if the mechanicals (specifically the engine/FI system) hasn't been tampered with. I noticed in your profile that you're in Calif. No matter what the seller says, DO NOT buy one without a valid CA smog cerfificate IN HAND!! No excuses/promises, etc. from seller. Most Porsches now have to go through "smog only" stations and it's a real hassle. I can't over-emphasize it enough-no smog, no buy!
Good luck,
Bill.
