Question " Can a VW type 1 fits to 901 trans ? "

Hi, I need your know how.
If I´m correct the first series of 912 cars have 901 trans and later 356 engines ?
Can a VW type 1 engine fits in a 901 trans ?
What parts I need to do this ? (flywheel, clutch, starter, etc)
I need to know this because I building a 550 spyder and I already have the VW engine and want 5 front speeds trans.
Thanks

VW Type 1 with a 12v fly wheel and 200mm diaphram clutch will fit straight on to a 901 box. It will also work okay with the Porsche starter motor.
