Question 1976 912E Spare Wheel & Tire

Can anyone offer advice on the following:
I have a '76 912E (w/ 6 X 14 Fuchs)and the compact (de-flated) spare tire needs replaced. Does anyone supply a spare similar to the original? Can one of the new compact style spares be used? I was also wondering if lower cost simple wheels are available (Winter Driving). For instance some suppliers advertise $79 simple wheels for the 356 but I've never seen anything similar for the 912. Thank you in advance for any replies ..

6x14 wheels are not standard for 912's but I don't think that you need, or can get, a special tire for that car. As for the spare can you fit a full size in the trunk? That would be the way to go. Otherwise I think those spares are hard to find and replace. Also would you actuallly use the deflatable spare? I hear they are not the best of spares. Then you wouldn't need to replace it.
