Post weber hoses

there are two thin rubber hoses running off each side of my webers that lead to nothing...one of them is plugged with a screw, and the other is open...they are just sitting on each side of the engine compartment...i have scanned through various sources but have no idea what they are for, or why one would be plugged and the other not...THANKS!!!

Plug every hole that you can find that is not needed. In other words don't plug all of the neccessary fuel inlet holes, the main venturis, ilde mixture screw holes, etc. But, plug everything else. The reason is that these carbs are made to work in several different vehicles which need adjustments for chokes, vacume advance, etc. Porsches don't require these so if you DON'T plug the holes you carbs wil not work properly, or at all.
