It's 1:10 pm, taking a lunch break and about to install my newly rebuilt webers!
I've been having starting problems, idling problems, popping, backfiring, stalling, poor performace, and every other problem imaginable with my webers. I decided to rebuild them and boy was there A LOT of junk in them. The accelerator pump had junk in it, there was junk all over and around the butterflies, the floats were WAY WAY WAY WAY off, one extremely low and one extremely high. On top of that there were extra washers and o rings everywhere where they are not suppose to be! This causes the jets to not line up. And as I said before the entire thing was filthy. Rebuilding it however is very easy, took 1 night taking it apart and cleaning all of the needles and such. Let the carbs and their covers to sit in the parts washer for a day. Then I cleaned them adjusted the floats and put them all together. Est. time 6 hours. Now everyone cross their fingers, hold their breath, and pray that my car will run right! Be back in another hour or two.....I hope! ------------------ Joshua Harrison 1968 912 Coupe |
