Does anyone have any experience with electic fuel pumps? I think my maechanical fuel pump has gone south and I don't want to spend the big $ for a new one. Plus, an electric pump would be VERY nice. I've found one at JC Whitney http://www.jcwhitney.com/item.jhtml?ITEMID=4665 for $45 and I think it would be a good buy. Also is there a block off plate I can buy for the mechancal fuel pump, or do I just leave it in there? Any ideas or suggestions are appriciated!

Josh: I had great luck with the little Facet pumps on a 356 and 2 912's.
http://www.jcwhitney.com/productnoitem.jhtml?CATID=35749 Quiet, small, cheap, etc. As for the block-off, I think some of the "hot VW" catalog/shops sell a block-off that might fit. Or just leave it in (in case......) Good luck, Bill. |

Josh:
If your mechanical fuel pump has indeed crapped out, consider gutting the internals, hacking off the top works, and using what's left as a plug. There will be some holes to plug - JB Weld should do the trick. JAS |

Hi Josh,
If you put in a electric fuel pump, you also might need a pressure regulator. You don't want to put too much pressure to the Webers. CB performance can help you there, also with the block off plate. Adam White 68 912 Coupe. |
