Question Just bought 67 912 for $300. Was it a good deal?

The car has no motor or trans and no seats. The floors have some holes but the body is straight and solid(along with the rockers and door jams). The glass is also perfect. Did I get a good deal?

Yes! It can be a fun racer with a little work. BTW - I have 67 parts car and not every part works on my 69 driver. Email if you need 67 parts.

I got a 66 this weekend for $700 it has a fresh motor in it with a 5 speed and webbers the guy said the motor was rebuilt driven home from the shop and sat since 1986! Go figure!! Anyhow it was frose. I got it to turn over some but not all the way I didn't want to force it I need to pull the top end off and see what it looks like. What is the differance between a 912 motor and a VW.How much is a rebuilt 912 motor worth?? The guy said it was a big bore??

I put a 914 motor in my '66 912 with not much hassle. Maybe you have 914 stuff?
Oh, I just met a guy that got a better deal than you! A 5 gauge dash 912 for $300 with everything in it, including a dead rat!! But your deal was still very good! My Flintstones floor 912 was $1450, not running. But it had one front seat.
