Windshield wiper fix?

Hello, my '66 had wiper motor screws loose and came off the bracket. The only way I can figure to put the screws back in is to remove the nuts outside and take off the arms. Then drop the long bracket and all down and out of the car to work on it. Is this correct? Any tips or tricks? Otherwise it seems to be working fine. Also, How does the little squirt pump get actuated? On the wiper stalk by pulling in?

Ok, no more help needed! I will pass on what I did for the archives: This car is a '66. I removed the whole wiper/rack assembly. You must remove the blade arm nuts, then the big nuts on the outside of the car. The not fun part is that there are two hex head screws to remove under the dash pad! They are roughly in the center above the gauge house. After I removed the rack I was able to get at the bolts that had come loose in the first place (the ones that hold the motor assy. to the bracket). I attached it and put everything back in and then tried the wipers... To my immediate horror the armes would not park correctly!! They wanted to park on the car body! Well, the fix for this was to get the rack out AGAIN to take the nut off the "Motor" shaft and the lever that operates the wipers. The shaft is splined so apparently it slipped at some point and caused all the mess in the first place. All you have to do is make sure the arm parks at the end of its travel and all will be well.
