Hi - I don't know for sure but guess the number on the bottom spine 902/etc. should indicate 4 vs. 5 speed. It seems to me there is a section in the "ABC's & 912's" book by Harry Pellow (aka HCP Research, also called the Maestro) that lists the numbers. I have a copy - list the number and we'll see.

Also - tell me about your experience removing the cv joints. I've heard the 12 point bolts strip quite easily. Did you have a hard time removing them - Did you use an impact wrench or do it by hand? Just curious as I have a 67 that I'll be tearing down soon.

Cool

just use a good allen wrench or rachet type
cheap tools will round and strip hardware take it from me.BEnn wrenchin my whole life.. mine all came easily ecept one or two . just grab it with vise grips to breake it loose then use the allen again as the mount of torque required to turn it after its broke free is much less. besides you will be replacing that bolt anyway.....
