I have a 1966 912 coupe and came across a set of front fenders in primo condition from a 1969 912. I know the 1969 fenders have a slight flare but the price was right and I need new fenders.
I have found out that the front turn signals are different but can anyone tell me what else I will have to replace? If too many parts need replacing I may have made a mistake. Any thoughts would be appreciated!!! |

Hello
Basically the are bolt on. The horngrill and the light has changed also the mounting braket for the headlight bucket so you have to run the wireloom a bit different. Also the outher fender mont for the bumper is missing. The low spot is the 69 have an other contur on the arches make the car visually unharmonic. If your rear needs work to you can think about flaring them too. However good wings are always seeked and maybe you can swap them to correct ones. An other way is to restorate the old wings. Grüsse |

Hi - Just an idea - Why don't you make a quick trip to Arizona? I have a fine set of 67 fenders I took from my 67 AZ parts car and carefully packed away for a later day. My driver is a 69 so while the 67's will work, they will look odd, like Roland mentioned the 69's would look on your 66. So we could swap ... Oh, I'd have the turn signals, etc. too.
Original is better for value/resale/and contour. BTW - I'm in Georgia (Georgia Tech actually) for the week so if this a viable solution/you want digital photos, etc. - It's have to be after next weekend. Scott 69 912 3078 67 912 all over the garage
