Lightbulb 912e Clutch

My clutch is starting to slip not all the time but it needs a repair. I was going to replace the clutch cable and adjust the new cable as my first step. If I find no improvement I think I will have to replace the clutch. Has anyone done this themselves? Can you remove the engine from the car with out the trany? Can you do the clutch like on a Bettle ( I have done this years ago and it was fairly easy)? I would like to try this repair myself but I am getting a price from my local Porsche mechanic just to see what the total cost would be sometimes he surprises me with a good price.

I've done it and it's much easier to drop the engine/tranny as a unit and separate them on the ground. Just be careful with the halfshafts (wrap the ends in baggies and hang them out of the way.)
