I have a '69 912 that I need to trouble some electrical problems. I noticed that the fuse box is composed of 2 fuse boxes of eight each (with original fuses). The electrical diagram for the 912 only shows 12. Any ideas?

Hello
In 69 the electric was changed to two fuseboxes beside the left batterie box. The upper holds 10 and the lower 8 fuses. Just look at a 911 wire diagram. Grüsse |

The upper and lower both hold 8 each.

Hello,
What kind of problems are you having? It seems I've read about this fuse thing before. Check the archives, perhaps I read it there. My 69/912, has a Roland says, 10 and 8. Wiring diagrams are available on the web, I think this site has them and "912 Registry" may have it too. Good luck, C. Clark |

Lots of problems. Turn signals don't work, backup lights don't work, brake lights don't work, high beams on one headlight doesn't work. The 912 I have has two original 8 fuse boxes. I know the 911 diagrams have a 10 and 8, but this seems different.
Thanks Dave Quote:

Hello
As far I remeber all 69 cars have the same electricty base layout. I had actually never worked on a 69 as they where very rare in germany and most 912 US returners costumer woudn´t show up fearing to loose to much money. Now just a short start: Lots of problems. Turn signals don't work, Now, both sides ? and what about the hazard ? backup lights don't work, Check bulbs and switch. brake lights don't work, See abouve high beams on one headlight doesn't work. Check fuses and the high beam switch. The 912 I have has two original 8 fuse boxes. Could be so where is the problem upper box is for general things lower box is for light only. They go from up to down: UPS better look at the pelicans electric diagrams You also can identify the circuits by the color codes on the wires. I know the 911 diagrams have a 10 and 8, but this seems different. Like said before there are wires and fuses. Grüsse |

Hello
Just compare if the lights have the same colors and where the wire comes out on the fuse box. Switches and all the other stuff should be similar. Just the engine wireloom is different but uses the same connector and also you have not the full instrumentation. Maybe some other things are not on the 912. Maybe enough to put a 8 fuse box in. http://www.pelicanparts.com/911/911_Parts/Electrical/911_electrical_1971_Part-1.jpg http://www.pelicanparts.com/911/911_Parts/Electrical/911_electrical_1971_Part-2.jpg Grüsse |
