912 Factory Manual

Hello,

I haven't spent much time on the 912 portion of the board (I spend most of my time in the 911 board). I have a bunch of parts from a '66 912 I am selling on the classifieds board. One of the folks who responded told me I should put a post on this board for the factory manual I have.

I have an original (not photocopy) maroon binder factory repair manual for the 912. I do not need it since I am focusing my effort on restoring my 911.

This manual is a wealth of information and detailed specifications for the 912.

I'd prefer to have it go to a Porsche fan, rather than to some random auction bidder, so I am posting all my stuff here at the Pelican BBS.

I'd like to get $75 for this manual or will trade for a set of early (65-71) factory 911 manuals. I'd even trade it for photocopies of the 911 manuals.

If anyone is interested, please drop me a line a csprigg@hotmail.com.

Thanks,
Charlie

More information -

The title on the white tag on the spine of the binder is "Service Guide for the 912 Engine".

The front page says Service Guide 912 DR. ING. h.c.F.PORSCHE KG STUTTGART-ZUFFENHAUSEN Subject to Changes Edition 1966 Printed in Germany Ref.No. 4806.20 Technical Stage as of September 1966 All rights reserved C (circled) by Dr. - Ing. h. c. Ferdinand Porsche Stuttgart 1966.

The first table of contents lists Group E: ENGINE AND CLUTCH through section 64 En (goes to Page E 105).

The second table of contents lists Group F: FUEL SYSTEM through section 14 Fu (goes to page F 29).

The third table of contents lists GROUP E: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM through 40 LI (goes to page L 48, plus Radio and Electrical unnumbered sections pages L49 and L 51).

The binder contains pages labelled "Replacement Page <some number>, <month> <year>" so it has been updated - I see at least one labeled October 1970 - there may be newer ones too, I haven't checked carefully.

A lot, but not all, of pages say "Second Edition of this page, March 1967".

Thanks,
Charlie

Hi,

I haven't had any interest in this manual yet. Perhaps my price is too high? I have no use for this book, so I'd be willing to accept offers. Please drop me a message at csprigg@hotmail.com if you're interested.

Thanks,
Charlie

Thank you for all of the continued interest by private e-mail. Unfortunately the manual has already sold. The good news is that it went to a fellow Pelican Parts BBS member.

Cheers,
Charlie
