I have dual Solexes and this works for me.
When my engine is warm or hot (that is car was running and I turned off the ignition for a short time 1-15 minutes), I do not pump the accel pedal, I press part way down and hold it while I crank and as soon as it catches I press down on the accel pedel further and "feather" pump it until the engine is idle smoothly. Each engine has its own character and sometimes you just have to go through a series of trial and error before you find it. Jones Low 69-912 |

Most people, including myself, floor it until it starts. It may take 10 to 15 seconds to start but it will start. Once it starts don't let up on the throttle. Rev it up until the carbs start flowing again. Just act cool and no one will look at you funny, especially when they hear the awesome sound of a horizontally opposed, four cylinder, air cooled Porsche engine, instead they will be in aw. Man, I get chills just thinking about it!

i had the same problem for a while, i'd have to crank it for 10 seconds or so before it would start-murder on the starter and battery...put in a new bosch blue coil and voila-instant starts...there are so many different problems that can lead to trouble with warm starts but check your coil and consider it as an option, the difference was miraculous

I forgot to mentioned a CD ignition also seems to help. When the engine is hot and has been turned off and its been sitting for a bit the fuel in the carbs and manifold seems to vaporize and become overly rich. Pumping the throttle only adds more gas to an fuel rich condition. Press down on the throttle (pedel) and hold to open the throttle plate allows more air in and hopeful a hot spark will get it going. The CD unit makes cold start a whole lot easier and has helped in warm/hot engine starts too. Replacing your ignition wires and coil is a good idea too if they have lots of miles on them.

Hello
Try a electric cheap fuelpump ( Facet ) to boost while you start ( Hook it up parallel with the starter ). I´t isn´t the cure but a part that helps a bit. Grüsse |
